The Five Dock R.S.L. Sub-Branch & R.S.L. Club was the embryo of today’s high-profile and successful Club Five Dock RSL.
It was back in 1918 that the R.S.L. Sub-Branch was issued with its Charter, a mere two years after the R.S.L. movement was founded in Australia with the express aid of assisting Australia’s ex-servicemen and their dependents. For 97 years the Five Dock branch has not failed to honor this commitment and is one of the oldest clubs of an ex-servicemen’s philosophy in Australia.
History book author MIKE DAVIS who has written many books on clubs in New South Wales, including six on R.S.L. and Ex-Servicemen’s Clubs, has extensively researched our history from 1918 to 2015. This 150 page high-quality book was launched as part of Club Five Dock RSL’s commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC Day.
Copies can be purchased on that day for $25 members, $30 non members. Mail orders within Australia are available for an additional cost of $10.00 per copy (post and packaging).
