Club Five Dock RSL’s Annual Presidents black tie Dinner raises $20,000 for Abbotsford Public School.
The 2016 Presidents black tie dinner was held on Friday 23rd September 2016 with the beneficiaries being “Abbotsford Public School”. Club Five Dock RSL was excited to announce that the night was a huge success with $20,000 raised on the night.
This year’s theme was Jungle with the room looking amazing and atmosphere grooving. Head Chef Jeffrey Hauag created a menu that had everybody talking. There was plenty people dancing to Countdown Explosion providing great entertainment taking us through a journey from the 70s to the 80s.
President Robert Ridge welcomed all distinguished guests and was delighted to continue the pledge to assist local schools within the Inner West area.
The generosity of our suppliers and supporting Clubs had been overwhelming with many businesses coming on board to donate prizes and gift vouchers for our fund-raising raffle prizes.
Mr Chris Dey, APS P&C President filling in for School Principal Chris Johnson was presented with the $20,000 cheque and stated in his speech “I was delighted to represent Abbotsford Public School at the President’s Black Tie Dinner. The other parents and I had a great night. The food, music and atmosphere were all excellent. The fantastic donation was in fact a nice bonus! The APS P&C is always seeking to strengthen its ties with other organisations within the community. We are really grateful for the support and look forward to working further together in the future.
School Principal Chris Johnson released a statement “Founded in 1925, Abbotsford Public School continues to grow and develop. APS and the P&C work closely together to create a dynamic and diverse school environment. One area we are focussing on now is the redevelopment of the school canteen. The Club Five Dock RSL Community Grant is an extremely welcome addition to this major project. The canteen upgrade will both help us serve more children healthy food and support school community activities.
